Rangers set for new behind-scenes arrival in days as updates emerge on 4 Ibrox names - reports

Andries Ulderink is set to get under way at Rangers “in the coming days” after agreeing terms to join the club, Rangers Review reports.

According to Chris Jack via the outlet’s website on 24 June the Dutchman’s arrival on Philippe Clement’s backroom staff will not alter the status of the manager’s second in command from last season Stephan van der Heyden.

Additionally, both Alex Rae and Brian Gilmour, appointed after Michael Beale was sacked last term, will remain in place, while the Daily Record reported the same day that Colin Stewart will also continue.

Ex-Gers midfielder Rae’s contract was thought to have been expiring this summer but Jack previously reported on 17 June that the Scot was expected to stay on for the new campaign.

Philippe Clement staff expands amid summer of Rangers change

It looks to be all hands on deck for next season as key members of the coaching staff remain in place and the new man comes in.

Fans will hope that Ulderink can make a positive impact, having been assistant manager at Royal Antwerp last season.

And those that were already at Ibrox will need to show that they can put the players in position to emulate the early months of the Clement reign rather than the latter.

The Belgian’s arrival to take over from Beale initially generated a major improvement as Rangers won the Viaplay Cup, qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League as group winners and then overturned the deficit in the Scottish Premiership to overtake Celtic.

Philippe Clement’s first season at Rangers ended disappointingly last term.

But that hard work was ultimately thrown away and no further trophies were captured, with the Scottish Cup also missed out on thanks to defeat to the Old Firm rivals in the final.

Clement is overhauling the squad this summer and clearly there is now change behind the scenes too as the Light Blues try to react to how the campaign ended.

In other Rangers news, the club have been told to cut all ties with a senior ace because of an issue at Ibrox.
