Dan Friedkin to officially takeover Everton, announcement in days - report

Dan Friedkin is set to officially complete his takeover of Everton with an announcement due in days, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Writing on their website (6 July), the news outlet report that the American is set to pass tests to become the owner and an announcement is expected in “the next few days”.

Friedkin agreed a deal with Farhad Moshiri for his 94.1% stake in the Toffees last month, after the long-running saga with 777 Partners came to an end when they missed their final deadline to complete a deal.

Everton set for a brand new owner finally

It’s been a long time coming for Everton fans, but the era of Moshiri is finally about to come to an end and the era of Friedkin will start.

Friedkin has got a good track record with his businesses and has helped turn the fortunes of AS Roma around since he took over the Italian giants.

He clearly sees opportunity on Merseyside to help the Toffees develop and with the new stadium there is great potential to return the club back to their former glory.

It’s going to be a long road but after clearing £200million of the club’s debts [Independent, 22 June], he has already put his money where his mouth is to prove he’s serious and that he actually cares about the future.

It’s an exciting time to be a fan of the club and there now isn’t long to wait for the official announcement that will bring an end to the horror that was Moshiri’s run as owner of this great club.
