Rangers want to sign Liverpool centre-mid on loan - report

Rangers want to sign Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark on loan for the 2024/25 season according to DaveOCKOP.

Writing on his website (6 July), the Liverpool insider reported that Rangers are one of a number of clubs looking to sign Clark for the season.

It is understood that the Gers will have to compete with the likes of RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg and Norwich for his signature.

Clark made 14 appearances for Liverpool last season including the Carabao cup final against Chelsea in February.

Philippe Clement looks to add more potential to Rangers squad

Philippe Clement has based his transfer policy around signing young players with high potential.

Whilst it is highly unlikely that a move for Clark would contain any future purchase clause, it is still a smart move for the club.

The 19-year-old gained Premier League and European experience at Liverpool last season, he also scored his first goal and added an assist against Sparta Prague in the Europa League.

He could prove to be a capable option in the midfield for Clement and compliment the potential arrival of the more seasoned Kenny McLean (Rangers Review, 6 July).

Clement is undergoing a serious squad overhaul this summer as they aim to build a side capable of competing in the present and the future.

In the Champions League qualifiers, they could face one of LOSC Lille, Clark rivals RB Salzburg or Slavia Prague (Glasgow World, 27 May).

The latter of which finished two points clear of their Prague rivals who Clark recorded an 8.6 match rating against as per Sofascore.

Clark would bring an experienced head on young shoulders to a revamped Rangers side.
