Arsenal are open to further reinforcements in this summer’s transfer window.
The Gunners have already signed David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori, while reports have revealed that Mikel Merino is on the verge of joining Arsenal too.
That makes this a solid summer for the North Londoners, but it looks like they are already looking ahead – not just for the final week of the window but for the future beyond as well.
Vozes Do Gigante reveal that Arsenal are about to table a bid to sign one of Brazil’s most talented young players.
Arsenal eye move for Gabriel Carvalho
Arsenal have done a fantastic job with their academy in recent seasons, and their recruitment of young players has been brilliant as well.
The Gunners will prioritise investing in young players who have the potential to become superstars in the future, and Brazil has always been an incredible market.
Arsenal having Edu Gaspar gives them an edge over many other clubs because his connections in Brazil are outstanding.
Vozes Do Gigante reveal that Arsenal have ‘signalled’ to Brazilian side Internacional that they will make a ‘significant proposal to take Gabriel Carvalho to London’.
It has been claimed that Arsenal’s offer is expected to be in the region of €25 million (£21.2m), which is a lot of money for a player who is still only 17.
Even if the Gunners manage to agree a deal for Carvalho, FIFA rules prohibit a move to the Premier League until the player turns 18, which doesn’t happen till August 2025.
So, if Arsenal sign Carvalho, he will likely spend the 2024/25 season on loan in Brazil.
Who is Arsenal target Gabriel Carvalho?
Carvalho is a 17-year-old attacking midfielder who can also play out wide and as a second striker.
The Brazilian, a product of Internacional’s academy, has played eight games for the senior side already and has picked up two assists. He has been really impressive.
Football Talent Scout reveal that Carvalho has been described by people in Brazil as ‘Inter’s most talented academy player since Alexandre Pato’.
He has been hailed for his ‘attacking movement, positional sense, and ability to interpret the game, which, combined with his pace, mobility and energy, enable him to make spectacular solo runs to beat the defensive line.”
Carvalho is a tremendous young talent, and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal will really table a bid to sign him in the coming days.
