Report: Aston Villa set to make contact for 'superb' playmaker who tore Unai Emery's side apart last season

Aston Villa chiefs are already eyeing transfer targets for the January window.

The Villans brought in seven new additions in the market, including the statement arrival of Amadou Onana from Everton.

The £50m signing has already made a huge impact, netting twice in four outings and looks like money well spent.

Though, Aston Villa aren’t prepared to rest on their laurels despite a productive window as they’re now planning to make an approach for a playmaker on the continent.

Aston Villa ready to make contact to sign Ernest Muci

Ernest Muci tore Aston Villa apart in September 2023 when his Legia Warsaw picked up a 3-2 victory.

Muci netted twice and even got on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture when Villa made amends with a 2-1 win.

The Albanian playmaker ended up making a mid-season switch to Super Lig giants Besiktas, where he has struggled to have the same impact.

Now, it has just come to light, that Aston Villa and West Ham United are ready to make an approach to sign Muci in the January transfer window, according to Turkish outlet Aksam.

Ernest Muci open to Premier League move

It’s further claimed that Muci is keen on a move to the Premier League and an offer in the region of £12.6m will be enough to convince Besiktas to sanction his sale.

The 23-year-old, who has been labelled ‘superb’ per talent scout Jacek Kulig, has made just one start across all competitions this season, so evidently he’s been deemed surplus to requirements, somewhat.
