A club on the continent are about to ‘intensify’ contacts with Newcastle United as they look to sign a ‘special’ player from Eddie Howe, according to a recent report.
The Tynesiders endured a tough season with a number of injuries in key areas, though, they still managed to finish in seventh.
Though, the onus will now be on Howe to return his side to Europe and to do that, he’ll have to keep a hold of his best players.
With that said, it seems one club is set to make a move for a ‘special’ Newcastle player.
PSG to ‘intensify’ contacts for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes
According to Globo Esporte, Paris Saint-Germain are expected to ‘intensify’ contacts with Newcastle United to sign Bruno Guimaraes towards the end of the month.
Guimaraes has a £100m release clause active until June 24th, with Barcelona and Manchester City also interested.
City have reportedly made an approach but not with an offer whilst PSG remains the most concrete suitor at this stage.
Barca are seen as an unlikely destination due to their finances.

Any time Guimaraes is asked about leaving Tyneside, he always expresses how much he loves the club.
So even if PSG were to activate his release clause, there is no guarantee from the player’s side that a deal would be agreed.
The only sticking point in that is Newcastle’s Financial Fair Play concerns, as they may feel it’s best to move him on to comply with the rules.
