Multiple Premier League sides are now interested in buying an Arsenal youngster who was once labelled ‘prolific’ for his scoring in youth football.
Recently, Mikel Arteta’s reluctance to offer more opportunities to the club’s Hale End stars has come under scrutiny.
It’s impossible to critique Arteta’s management as a whole – who has transformed Arsenal’s football over the last few seasons.
However, a lot of fans would now like to see the club turn to their rich talent in the academy, instead of the transfer market.
Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly are the next big hopes in that regard, players who will perhaps receive more chances next season.
Of course, Amario Cozier-Duberry’s departure at the end June left a particularly bad taste for many Arsenal fans, who once held the 19-year-old in the same regard as the names above.
And whilst he’s not quite as celebrated as those mentioned, 20-year-old Arsenal forward Khayon Edwards could also be set to leave in the coming months.
Arsenal youngster Khayon Edwards is now ‘open to leaving’ the club this summer
According to a report by Jeorge Bird, Edwards is now subject to interest from Premier League clubs and some abroad.
Edwards has been ‘prolific’ in youth football for Arsenal, scoring 23 goals in 41 games for the under-18s and 14 in 36 when stepping up to the under-23s.

But with just one-year left on his Arsenal contract, Bird reports that the striker is ‘open to leaving the club permanently this summer’.
Arsenal want to offer Edwards a new deal, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Leyton Orient in League One.
Edwards failed to score in his seven appearances, but was often used as a sub, failing to complete 90 minutes on any occasion.
Therefore, it would seem unlikely that Arsenal would ever envisage the 20-year-old as a first team player in the future, perhaps meaning a new contract would be designed to protect Edwards’ future value.
However, judging by Edwards’ reported stance, it perhaps wouldn’t be a surprise if the youngster pushed to leave, who is said to be keen to test himself in senior football – which would appear unlikely happen at Arsenal in the near future.
