Sherwood raves over ‘Absolutely Magnificent’ Kulusevski moment in Tottenham vs Manchester City

Tim Sherwood has hailed Tottenham ace Dejan Kulusevski after his “magnificent” pass led to Timo Werner bagging the opening goal of their EFL Cup clash against Manchester City on Wednesday (30 October).

The attacker broke down the right side of the pitch and played an inch-perfect pass across the box towards the German, who coolly slotted the ball into the bottom-right corner.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News (30 October) Sherwood shared his verdict on Spurs’ goal.

“Absolutely magnificent, Kulusevski was fantastic down the right-hand side once he gets away you’re not catching him,” he said.

“Playing central midfield he finds himself out on the right-hand side where he’s more accustomed to, his delivery was magnificent.”

Spurs were leading 2-1 at the break at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Kulusevski’s performance in Tottenham’s most recent Premier League game against Crystal Palace left a lot to be desired.

The Sweden international was one of the worst players on the pitch and looked rather uncomfortable in the centre of the park.

However, Ange Postecoglou chose to stick by the former Juventus man and deploy him in centre-midfield once again.

This time, however, it evidently worked out as he set up the opening goal of the game for Werner who was brought in for youngster Mikey Moore after the youngster’s poor outing against Oliver Glasner’s men.

There’s still a long way to go yet but, since kick-off, it has felt like Spurs have been on the front foot and have refound their form after their poor showing against Palace.

Spurs’ fans will no doubt be hoping for more of the same from their team in the second half and will be looking for their team to pull off an upset so they can advance further into the Carabao Cup.

Only time will tell what the future has in store for Postecoglou’s men but if things continue as they’ve started, it’s hard to see how they won’t come away with the win.
