Dan Bardell believes Dan Friedkin would be right to let Beto leave Everton in January to help free up the wage bill.
The prospective Toffees owner has agreed to let the 26-year-old leave on loan during the winter window to help pick up his value [Calcio Mercato].
The Guinea-Bissau international has seen this drop to £16.7million which would represent a £13.3m loss after signing from Udinese for £30m just over a year ago [BBC Sport].
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell thinks this departure would ease some financial concerns on the Goodison club especially with the striker being on the fringes of the squad this season.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “Beto made his name in Italy, he did well there and got the move to Everton.
“If he’s not going to play and they can lose some of his wages I wouldn’t see it as a huge deal him going.
“If they can recoup any of his huge wages then I think Everton will look to do that to be honest.
“He’s never going to be first choice and with the financial position Everton are in they can’t afford to carry someone on those wages unless their first choice and performing.“
Everton could let Beto go in January
The striker just hasn’t imposed himself on Merseyside since completing an expensive move from the Serie A as Dominic Calvert-Lewin has always been favoured.
Despite this, the ex-Portimonense man has scored seven goals for the Toffees, just three less than his English counterpart in the same time.
Regardless of this output, Friedkin appears to have made up his mind on Beto and his loan to recoup some sort of fee and wages appears to be the choice.
This may prove to be a risk with the lack of goals in Sean Dyche’s squad, showcased by the goalless draw against Brentford on Saturday (23 November).
In other Everton news, Michael Ball has blasted the Toffees as he shares his growing “concern”.
