Celtic are interested in bringing FC Lausanne to the club after missing out on Mateusz Bogusz, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Scottish champions have turned their attention to the 21-year-old midfielder to replace Matt O’Riley.
The Portuguese central midfielder nearly made the move to Celtic in January but opted to continue his development at the Swiss club.
Sources say Lausanne value Sanches at £4 million and Brendan Rodgers’ side would be willing to meet their asking price.
Celtic eye Alvyn Sanches as Matt O’Riley replacement.
Born in France to Portuguese parents, Sanches has represented Switzerland at Under-21 level, scoring three goals in six appearances.
At club level, the youngster broke into the Lausanne first time in 2020 and has since scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in 89 appearances.
Although primarily deployed as a central midfielder throughout his short career, Sanches is also capable of playing as a number ten, on the right wing, and as a striker.
Sanches isn’t the only midfielder the Glasgow giants are looking to bring in to replace Brighton’s O’Riley.
In other news, Celtic table improved Auston Trusty bid.
