Sources share what Vatche Manoukian has promised in Everton takeover bid - report

Sources have shared that Vatche Manoukian has promised to implement a “sustainable long-term strategy” if he succeeds in buying Everton, according to The Telegraph.

The report on 10 June states that the consortium led by the Armenian includes a Middle Eastern royal and the Australian Myer family.

It is also reportedly “unclear” how much Moshiri would earn from any potential sale, given the loans he has put into the club.

What do Everton need from a new owner?

Everton’s significant debt and financial issues saw them fall foul of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) during the 2023/24 season, being docked eight points.

Their struggles have yet to abate, with the threat of administration still hanging over the club.

Any prospective new owner would have to possess both the resources and the nous to first stabilise the club and staunch its proverbial financial bleeding, given the Toffees’ numerous expenses, including the construction of their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

These issues will likely force Everton to sell some of their most valuable assets, such as Jarrad Branthwaite, but the club must still tackle the problem of replacing their outgoing stars and providing head coach Sean Dyche with players of sufficient quality to keep the Toffees in the Premier League.

The issues facing Everton’s new owners – whoever they may be – are myriad. Toffees supporters can only hope the club’s next custodians are up to the task.
