West Ham have made first-team centre-back partners Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma available for sale, sources have told Football Insider.

The east London club have made signing two starting centre-backs a summer priority and are working on adding Jean-Clair Todibo to new signing Max Kilman.

Aguerd, 28, and Zouma, 29, have been told they’re both free to find new clubs and that they will be sold if their asking prices are met.

Agents have been instructed by West Ham and are working in the background on finding buyers for the pair.

They are valued at a combined £50million.

Morocco international Aguerd has been attracting attention from France, with Ligue 1 outfits Rennes and Lens both working on permanent deals.

West Ham need an upgrade on Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma

Only relegated sides Luton Town, Sheffield United, and Burnley conceded more goals than West Ham under David Moyes last season, 74 in total.

An impressive start to last season was quickly forgotten as the Europa Conference League champions conceded five or more goals on five separate occasions in all competitions.

Good form was hard to come by for both Aguerd and Zouma. The Moroccan only won 14 tackles in his 21 Premier League appearances, winning just 53.8 per cent of tackles attempted.

Although Zouma’s tackle win percentage is better at 73.9 per cent, only winning 17 in 33 Premier League appearances is a poor showing.

Kilman is already a significant upgrade on both with his ability to progress the ball, if West Ham can beat Juventus to the signing of Todibo, they’ll have added one of Europe’s most sought-after defenders.

In other news, West Ham could come to agreement with Everton for striker.
