Striker agrees Rangers transfer, will arrive in Glasgow in days - Chris Jack

Hamza Igamane has agreed a transfer to Rangers and will arrive in Glasgow in the coming days, according to Chris Jack.

The journalist reported via Rangers Review [20 June] that the 21-year-old will sign a £1.5million deal with the Gers, becoming the club’s fifth signing after Connor Barron was announced on Thursday 20 June.

The Moroccan striker will arrive from FAR Rabat, having notched seven goals and six assists in 20 league appearances during the 2023/24 campaign.

Rangers set to sign Hamza Igamane as travel updates drop

The striker position seems to be one that Clement is eager to address ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, with both Igamane and Lawrence Shankland linked with moves to Glasgow already.

Although Cyriel Dessers managed to notch 20 goals in all competitions in his first season with the club, he was constantly slammed for his all-round play as the Gers failed to secure the Scottish Premiership title.

The Nigerian forward does not look set to continue as Clement’s first choice, especially with Danilo returning from injury, and it could get worse for him after Igamane’s arrival.

While the inbound striker looks to be an exciting prospect, he is certainly a big risk coming from a Moroccan league, though he is involved with the Moroccan national team – yet to make his debut.

The manager is finally able to put his own spin on the Rangers squad. That has taken effect rather quickly, with several outgoings and this set to be the club’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.

Fans will certainly be excited about next season now, and the disappointment of missing out to Old Firm rivals Celtic in both the league and Scottish Cup can be put behind them as Clement moves forward.

All that is left now is for the club to officially announce the signing, seeing him join the likes of Barron and Jeft at Ibrox.
