Tottenham now have until July 19 to sign 'electric' winger before his £21m release clause expires - journalist

According to a journalist, a rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target has a release active until July 19.

The North Londoners have added Timo Werner and Archie Gray to their ranks and are now thought to be in the market for a versatile forward.

After Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich last summer, Tottenham have become too reliant on Son Heung-Min for goals.

With that said, they could move to sign a German international whose release clause is now valid.

Chris Fuhrich has a £21m release clause active until July 19

Tottenham Hotspur have been lined with a move for Germany and Stuttgart winger Chris Fuhrich over the last few weeks.

TBR reported in June that Fuhrich was on Spurs’ list of targets this summer and it now appears as though a move could accelerate in the coming week or so.

That’s because he has a release clause worth £21m that is only valid for another 10 days, so if he is to depart Stuttgart this summer, it’ll likely commence imminently.

Florian Plettenberg confirmed that there have been no offers for the 26-year-old at this stage.

Chris Fuhrich statistics

Fuhrich, who plies his trade on both flanks and even as a striker, netted nine goals whilst laying on seven assists last term, helping Stuttgart to a runners-up finish behind title-winners Bayer Leverkusen.

The ‘electric’ winger, as quoted by the official Bundesliga website, has really impressive underlying data, too, ranking in the top 14 per cent for progressive carries per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe, as per FBref.

Further, he sits in the top 17 per cent for successful take-ons, once again amplifying his marvellous dribbling abilities.

In other news, Manchester City are not planning to bid for a £60m Premier League ‘superstar’ with Tottenham very interested.
