Tottenham ready Pascal Struijk transfer after Leeds United twist

Tottenham are keeping an eye on Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to TBR.

The North Londoners are one of the Premier League teams closely following the Dutchman, with Ange Postecoglou’s team looking to sign a centre-back in January.

Spurs appear to have a good relationship with the Championship outfit as the two teams have completed deals for Archie Gray, Joe Rodon and Manor Solomon over the years.

The Whites are in talks with Struijk over a new contract without success so far, and it remains to be seen how the North Londoners’ January plans will unfold.

Postecoglou has struggled in recent weeks, with questions being asked about his future in N17 following some abysmal displays.

The Lilywhites crumbled against Chelsea on 8 December after taking a two-goal lead and failed to get a victory at Ibrox on Thursday [12 December] in the Europa League.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are being exposed more often in the current campaign, and the duo’s fitness issues are not encouraging.

Radu Dragusin has found minutes hard to come by this season, but the Romanian hasn’t made a case for himself at Tottenham with recent displays.

Ben Davies has also been filling in at centre-back over the last few years, and the Lilywhites clearly need reinforcements in the coming month to boost their chances of getting into the top four.

Struijk would be a decent addition to strengthen the depth in Spurs’ backline, and if Leeds fail to get promotion this season, Daniel Levy could use that to convince the Dutch national to make the switch.
