'Trying to agree a deal': Sky Sports journalist has shared Raheem Sterling transfer update

Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and West Ham United are some of the clubs that have been linked with a late swoop for Raheem Sterling.

The England international has been frozen out at Stamford Bridge, which appears to have piqued the interest of the Red Devils, the Gunners the Magpies, the Villans and the Hammers.

The Telegraph have reported that Manchester United are particularly interested in Sterling and are said to be in talks with Chelsea over a deal for the player.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail state that Arsenal are fully aware of the player’s situation and it remains to be seen if the Gunners will make a move ahead of the deadline.

As for Newcastle, GiveMeSport claimed that the Magpies are keen to sign Sterling as Eddie Howe looks to bolster his own attacking ranks.

Sources have also informed TBR Football that Aston Villa and West Ham are interested in Sterling after he was dropped by Maresca, and saw his No.7 shirt handed to Pedro Neto.

Now, Sky Sports News journalist Kaveh Solhekol has provided an update on the state of play, suggesting the Blues are stepping up their efforts to offload him.

Chelsea trying to agree deal with interested clubs over Raheem Sterling

Solhekol has claimed on Sky Sports News that Chelsea are “trying to agree a deal with interested clubs which can be put in front of Sterling ahead of Friday’s deadline”.

The player is not involved in any club-to-club discussions but is said to be open to taking part in talks, after constructive club negotiations.

Solhekol went on to say that there is no guarantee Sterling will leave Chelsea before the window closes.

He is still listed as one of the 33 senior players on the club website, though he does not have a squad number.

Sterling a proven asset for any top Premier League outfit

Chelsea are determined to move Sterling on, which presents a great opportunity for the likes of Man United, Arsenal, Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham.

He has done well at the highest levels of the game and could certainly do a job for the Red Devils and the Gunners, two teams hoping to challenge for the title and go far in Europe.

And when it comes to the likes of Newcastle, Villa and West Ham, all of whom will be hoping to ruffle feathers towards the top of the table, Sterling would be a superb acquisition.
