Ange Postecoglou will no doubt be losing his patience after Richarlison’s latest injury setback at Tottenham.
It has been a miserable season for Spurs’ Brazillian striker.
He has managed just one start in seven appearances so far this season, playing a total of just 173 minutes of football.
After missing eight matches through injury, Richarlison returned to action off the bench in Spurs’ 4-1 Premier League win over West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (19 October).
He then started and scored the winner in Spurs’ 1-0 UEFA Europa League win over AZ Alkmaar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (24 October). However, after just five matches back, the 27-year-old has once again suffered a serious injury setback.
According to reliable Spurs insider Paul O Keefe via X (6 November), Richarlison is expected to be out of action for at least four weeks. Therefore, Postecoglou will surely be tearing his hair out after this latest update.
Ange Postecoglou dealt fresh Richarlison injury blow at Tottenham
In a moment which perhaps epitomised his Spurs career, Richarlison suffered this latest injury while providing an assist for Dominic Solanke in Spurs’ 4-1 Premier League win over Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (3 November).
It was yet another example of the good and bad that Richarlison offers in North London. While he no doubt has the quality to change games, his constant injury setbacks mean he just can’t do it consistently, with calls for the forward to be sold as a result.
As per Sofascore, after coming off the bench against Unai Emery’s side, Richarlison completed 100 per cent of his passes, with two of those key. However, he did struggle in other aspects of his game against the Villans.
He lost both of his ground duels while failing with his one dribble attempt. In addition, all three of his crosses were inaccurate, while he also gave possession away five times. Nonetheless, Postecoglou would’ve been delighted to see him provide an impact with his assist.
However, that assist ultimately cost him, and Spurs will now be without the striker for a month.
