Jefte could fear for his future at Rangers after Nils Koppen was urged to sign Jack MacKenzie from Aberdeen in January.
The Brazilian joined the Gers in the summer and has gone on to be the first-choice left-back under Philippe Clement after an injury to Ridvan Yilmaz.
It could be argued that the 20-year-old has been a better performer than his Turkish counterpart, who has not always been flavour of the month with the Ibrox faithful.
With that being said, the ex-Fluminese man could be fearful for his future in Govan after the latest transfer suggestion at Ibrox.
Jefte could fear Rangers future after Jack MacKenzie January admission
The Light Blues have been told to bring MacKenzie in from the Dons on a potential pre-contract agreement in January.
Daily Record journalist Scott McDermott (1 December, page 60) described a potential deal as a “no-brainer” with the defender looking unlikely to sign a new deal at Pittodrie.
With just six months soon to be remaining on his contract, the Scot could move to Ibrox for free in the summer, following in the footsteps of Connor Barron who did the same last summer.
If the Aberdeen left-back was to come in, it is likely that there would be certain first-team assurances made to convince him of a deal.
This wouldn’t be ideal for Jefte who is only just starting to find his feet in the Scottish Premiership after a move from South America.
The Brazilian has had some positive moments for the Light Blues but as Nils Koppen looks to bring Scottish talent in at Ibrox, the former APOEL Nicosia could be on the chopping block.
In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement will not want to watch back the celebration from a former player today.
