View: Tottenham sensation surely at risk of being axed after triple injury update

Mikey Moore is at risk of losing his place in the Tottenham first-team squad after a recent injury update on Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert.

It has been a difficult start to the season for Spurs and Ange Postecoglou.

Three defeats and one draw from seven league matches marks the North London side’s worst start to a Premier League season in 16 years.

Therefore, Postecoglou will be thrilled after a recent triple injury boost emerged. According to reliable Spurs insider Paul O Keefe via X (10 October), Son, Richarlison and Odobert could all soon make their returns.

O Keefe wrote, “Some positive injury news for a change. Tottenham are hopeful that Richarlison & Son will take full part in training with the squad next week and be in contention for West Ham. There’s even a hope Wilson Odobert could join in training.”

However, while that is a wonderful boost for Postecoglou and Tottenham, it could come as a real blow to 17-year-old sensation Moore.

It has been a huge season so far for Moore. The Hotspur Way starlet was handed his first competitive start for the club as Tottenham beat Ferencváros 3-1 in the UEFA Europa League at the Groupama Arena (3 October).

In addition, he has made multiple appearances in the Premier League and appears to have become something of a first-team regular.

However, that position is now most certainly at risk. Son, Richarlison and Odobert have all been missing in recent weeks due to injury, and all three will no doubt slot straight back into the first-team squad when they return.

Son will likely walk straight back into the starting lineup, with a recent agreement having been speculated between Spurs and South Korea.

Meanwhile, Odobert and Richarlison will expect to at least be given places on the bench. Therefore, space will have to be made, and Moore is one of the most likely candidates to make way.

While he has impressed this season and really burst onto the scene, Postecoglou is unlikely to drop Timo Werner from the squad, despite his recent poor displays.

As a result, Moore will likely be playing with the Under-21s once again and will have to continue working hard to earn opportunities, which should hopefully still arrive in the Europa League at least.
