Plymouth Argyle fans have been left fuming with Wayne Rooney after he reportedly opted not to turn up to a Christmas celebration at the club.
A £40 per-person event took place earlier this week where fans were expected to have the chance to meet the 39-year-old, only for the club to email that he couldn’t attend.
The situation was made worse when Coleen Rooney shared a photograph of them attending a Christmas market event, rather than the club event.
Rooney has been apart from his wife for a month due to her participation on the show, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
The former Man United star is currently under pressure at Plymouth with the club sat 23rd in the Championship table after only winning four of their 20 matches.
Supporters took to social media to call for Rooney to be sacked after their 2-1 loss against Swansea on December 10 as fans began to let their frustrations out.

Plymouth supporters called the situation an “absolute con” while others questioned “what sort of impression” that decision sends to his players.
