Wenham expects Tottenham exit to be agreed ASAP after transfer update from Italy

John Wenham believes Tottenham right-back Emerson Royal will join AC Milan.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims the two clubs could agree a fee for the Brazillian very soon.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday (2 July), negotiations between Tottenham and Milan have intensified, with the Serie A side pushing hard to get a deal for Emerson across the line this week.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels a deal will be agreed.

“Emerson will join AC Milan, I am pretty sure of that,” Wenham said.

“I think it has just taken a bit of time because Milan are trying to negotiate the best possible fee, which is absolutely fair, Spurs often look to bring fees down too.

“It is important to remember that it is still very early into the transfer window and there is lots of time for this deal to get done.

“I can’t see him not ending up there, it’ll just come down to the money, and I’m sure a final fee will be agreed very soon.”

Will AC Milan sign Emerson Royal from Tottenham this week?

It is difficult to not see this deal getting across the line.

Emerson is a reliable squad member and someone who supporters would likely have no issue keeping hold of for another season.

However, he just doesn’t suit Ange Postecoglou’s style of play. Therefore, a transfer away is probably best.

He will be keen to play more first-team football and would have a great opportunity to do that with Milan, who will be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.

And the money from his sale could then be reinvested into the squad to sign players more suited to Postecoglou’s way of playing.
