Alan Myers shares if Everton transfer business already decided in new takeover update

Everton have already decided their remaining transfer business for the summer window, according to Alan Myers.

The journalist reported via X on 13 July that the takeover is unlikely to happen before the end of July, with no impact on current transfer plans at Goodison Park.

This comes after an exclusivity agreement was signed between Dan Friedkin and Farhad Moshiri regarding his takeover of the club.

Everton transfers lined up in new takeover update

Moshiri has been looking to sell Everton for the best part of a year now and has undergone plenty of stress in doing so.

Before the collapse of the 777 Partners takeover [Tariq Panja, 1 June] it felt as if Moshiri only had his eyes set on selling to that group.

Granted, they did invest heavily into the club to help out with any financial woes but they have proven to be a complete disaster since those talks started.

The Friedkin Group interest was music to fans’ ears when it was first announced and it’s no surprise that an exclusivity agreement was drawn up [Financial Times, 20 June] within a few days of their interest emerging.

Although moves will likely be made upon the takeover, it feels as if the Toffees are looking to get their business done soon so new signings can be integrated more quickly.

This is quite an unorthodox way of going about business but Moshiri is seemingly leaving the club with little gifts before his departure.

The 2024/25 season is shaping up to be a strong one for Sean Dyche’s men and it will be interesting to see if they will be dragged into another Premier League relegation dogfight this term.
