Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho is a player whose future could be in doubt under Ruben Amorim, according to Jamie Jackson.
The Red Devils travel to North London to face Arsenal tonight (4 December) in the new boss’ fourth game in charge.
While there have been positive results, questions persist about his preferred 3-4-3 formation. Particularly regarding how certain players will fit, such as the Argentine winger Garnacho.
Jamie Jackson, Manchester United reporter for The Guardian, previewed the big clash on talkSPORT with Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara. When Cundy asked (4:20), “Who are the players you fear for a little bit? Is there anyone in the squad you look at and think further down the line might struggle to feature in this formation?”
Jackson replied, “Garnacho is one of them.”
Earlier in the show (2:44), Jackson had explained: “You get to someone like Garnacho—where is he going to fit? If [Kobbee] Mainoo plays, [Bruno] Fernandes is going to be a wide-right player, which is the wide-right position for Garnacho.”
Amorim must be given time to fix Man United mess he’s inherited

The Portuguese manager faces a monumental task, which could include letting certain players go if they do not fit his system.
Garnacho has been a bright spark for United over the past couple of seasons, stepping up when others struggled for form. However, he has only scored three Premier League goals this campaign. The 20-year-old winger has acknowledged recent criticisms, and he responded with determination, posting on Instagram before the Everton match (1 December), “I will keep doing my things.”
Garnacho started the Bodo/Glimt match midweek (28 November) and scored within just 51 seconds, proving he still has a role under Amorim.
However, he may need to adapt his style. Following the example of players like Amad Diallo and Marcus Rashford, who have successfully adjusted to the new formation.
With United facing a gruelling schedule of nine matches in December, including a Manchester derby, the Argentinian winger has a chance to prove he belongs in this side.
In other news, Harry Maguire is reportedly attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.
