Crystal Palace manager: Keith Wyness drops Glasner & Moyes verdicts

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Crystal Palace will give Oliver Glasner “until Christmas” to turn results around.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted reports of David Moyes replacing the Austrian are “premature”.

Crystal Palace remain winless in the Premier League after slipping to a 1-0 away loss at Nottingham Forest on Monday (21 October).

The Eagles are 18th in the table with three points – but are one of four winless sides in the English top-flight.

Glasner was a target for Bayern Munich in the summer window and Palace reportedly demanded €100million to let him leave the club.

But just months on, the Austrian is in danger of losing his job if the Croydon club’s bad start continues.

Crystal Palace could give Glasner ‘until Christmas’, says Wyness

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “The rumours are already circulating about David Moyes going to Palace.

“I think that’s premature.

“I’ve been watching Palace, they’ve not been taken apart by teams. Glasner has been close to getting results and has been unlucky sometimes.

“Those things tend to turn. I think they’d give him until Christmas, they’ll give him a real chance to turn things around.

“Palace can then look at it again before Easter.

“As I’ve preached many times, stability is a great thing for a football club. He did very well last season and can do it in the Premier League.

“I would say that it will be a survival move in Easter if they are to get rid of Glasner.”
