'Especially...': BBC pundit raves about two Forest players for the 'absolute shift' they put in v Man Utd

Nottingham Forest continued their seriously impressive start to the Premier League season with a huge win at Manchester United and two players have been picked out for high praise.

Forest once again produced when it mattered and goals from Nikola Milenkovic, Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood were enough for them to win.

Despite Bruno Fernandes putting a shift in for United, it was the Forest midfield which won out in the end on a wet and windy night at Old Trafford.

Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has made his team hard to beat and key to that is work ethic.

And according to former England player Izzy Christiansen, two Forest players really summed the team up at Old Trafford.

Nottingham Forest duo praised for Manchester United performance

Speaking for the BBC about Forest’s performance, Christiansen was quick to praise the effort from the Reds and in particular, Elliot Anderson and Ryan Yates.

“What an absolutely brilliant game of football for the neutral. It was end-to-end, entertaining, goals, drama and excellent bits of play,” Christiansen said.

“It was thoroughly deserved from Nottingham Forest, that is them back to their best and back to the form we’ve seen this season already. Their players put in an absolute shift, especially in midfield with Elliot Anderson and Ryan Yates.

“Their fans are in heaven right now, the noise from their end is deafening.”

Ryan Yates and Elliot Anderson impressive for Forest

Sometimes, teams need players who do the dirty work and take the pressure off the more creative players in the team.

With the likes of Gibbs-White and Elanga higher up the pitch, Yates and Anderson have a massive job in midfield and in a way, they showed their United counterparts how it’s done.

Forest will be delighted with what they are getting from summer signing Anderson, while for Yates, he continues to defy the doubters he’s had ever since Forest won promotion.
