Everton sources issue stance on Jordan Pickford amid recent transfer speculation - report

Everton sources claim reports of them looking for a Jordan Pickford replacement are wide of the mark, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet reported on 20 September that the Toffees view the England international as one of their most important players.

They are eager to keep the 30-year-old at Goodison Park and have no plans on bringing in a new number one.

Jordan Pickford is the least of the problems at Everton

The Toffees have a plethora of problems on and off the pitch and the goalkeeper is certainly not one of them.

While Pickford’s performances have been erratic at times, he’s shown more often than not why he’s an important part of the side.

While he is a quality keeper who has made a number of top saves to bail his side out, he’s an important influence behind the scenes as well.

Last season, when Everton went on a run where they barely shipped in any goals, it was no surprise that Pickford was among their standout candidates.

Hopefully, once Jarrad Branthwaite is back, he can keep clean sheets and that will add to his confidence which will only benefit the team.

Things need to change quickly for the Toffees, but there does not need to be any change in the goalkeeping department.

In other Everton news, Kevin Thelwell appears set to make a call on 21 September with Sean Dyche facing the sack at Goodison Park.
