'I'm hopeful..' - Wenham drops Solanke & van de Ven prediction ahead of Tottenham v Arsenal

John Wenham is “hopeful” of Dominic Solanke and Micky van de Ven starting for Tottenham against Arsenal on Sunday (15 September).

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has called for Ange Postecoglou to make three changes against Mikel Arteta’s side.

Spurs will be keen to get a victory over the Gunners after losing the past two North London derbies at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has detailed the team he wants to see Postecoglou pick for the crunch clash.

“I’m hopeful that we will see Solanke in that starting lineup,” Wenham said.

“Therefore, I would probably start him in a front three, with Son Heung-min on the left-hand side, and Dejan Kulusevski on the right.

“I just think this is a game that requires real leaders on the pitch, players that have experienced beating Arsenal at home.

“As a result, in midfield, I would personally be starting Rodrigo Bentancur alongside Yves Bissouma and James Maddison.

“That then allows Spurs to bring on the legs and the freshness of Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert as the game goes on. As for the back five, hopefully, van de Ven will be available.”

Dominic Solanke and Micky van de Ven to start for Tottenham against Arsenal?

A lot of what Postecoglou does on Sunday will depend on the availability of Solanke and van de Ven. Therefore, supporters will be waiting anxiously for updates on the pair.

In addition, the Australian will also need to wait and see if he has any fresh injury concerns following the international break, with Bissouma forced off for Mali on Tuesday (10 September).

However, no matter who is available for the home side, Tottenham supporters will be desperate for three points on Sunday.

It hasn’t been the most promising of starts to the season. Therefore, a win against Arsenal could be exactly what is needed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at this moment in time.

In other Tottenham news, the club have been backed to make a transfer decision on one player as a last-gasp exit update emerges.
