Dan Bardell believes Dele Alli will rely on consistent game time at Everton in an attempt to return to form after so long away from football.

The former England international is reaching the final stages of his recovery at Finch Farm [Daily Mail] which could see him return to the first team in the coming months.

Despite a lengthy injury return, the Toffees are showing faith in the 28-year-old with a deal on the table for when he returns to fitness at Goodison [Alan Myers].

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell thinks it will be difficult for Alli to return to the top level but needs regular minutes if he is to do so.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “He’s obviously a very talented footballer when he is fit and firing, we saw that at Spurs.

His record was incredible and it can almost be forgotten how good he was. The issue is that he hasn’t played for so long and coming back into the Premier League won’t be easy.

He’ll have to rely on game time to really get himself going but it’s hard to get that when he hasn’t played for so long.

It will be interesting to see how it is approached with Alli at Everton.

Dele Alli could make Everton return soon

The former Tottenham star could become a key player at Goodison Park even if he can come close to his previous form in the Premier League.

In his first three seasons in North London, the ex-MK Dons starlet scored 47 goals and was unfortunate to come away with no trophies in that time.

Alli now finds himself training at Finch Farm with a view to continuing at Everton if he can reach a positive fitness level.

Everton
Dele Alli is yet to play a professional game for Everton under Sean Dyche.

There is reason to believe that it is going well for the attacking midfielder and Toffees supporters will be hopeful to see him return in the coming weeks and months.

In other Everton news, Dan Friedkin is now at work to make a new appointment as a Dyche update has been shared.
