King suggests 23y/o is unhappy at current club and would benefit from Tottenham switch

Bryan King claims Jacob Ramsey is likely unhappy at Aston Villa amid interest from Tottenham.

The ex-Spurs scout feels that a move to North London could be of benefit to the 23-year-old.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via Playback (22 July), Tottenham are interested in signing Ramsey from Villa as part of a player-plus-cash deal involving Giovani Lo Celso.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has suggested the club must be careful with how many young players they add to the squad.

“If he gets the arm around the shoulder from Ange Postecoglou, that could help,” King said.

“I don’t think he has been getting the kind of push from Unai Emery that a young player would be looking for and he probably isn’t happy about that. A change of scenery could therefore benefit him.

“Spurs would likely benefit from his arrival too. However, they have signed quite a few young players, and they won’t be able to throw them all in the team at once.”

Tottenham to sign Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa?

Ramsey is no doubt a talented young player.

He struggled at Villa Park last season due to injury issues. However, if he were to get some consistent first-team minutes under his belt once again, he would very likely flourish.

Lo Celso clearly has no future in North London. Therefore, offloading him while bringing in an exciting young midfielder could be a stroke of genius from Daniel Levy.

With the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall having already joined in recent months, Ramsey would represent yet another talented young player for Postecoglou to try and develop.

Supporters will therefore be keeping a close eye on how this potential transfer develops.
