Leeds Exclusive: Big Summerville update today

Leeds United will demand a fee of £40million to sell Cyrsencio Summerville after the transfer of Archie Gray to Tottenham.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the winger could push for an exit amid interest from the likes of Paris Saint Germain and Brighton.

Sources say there is no release clause in Summerville’s deal, unlike with Gray who had inserted the clause into his contract extension last season.

Summerville, 22, won last season’s Championship Player of the Year award and is now keen to prove himself at the highest level after Leeds missed out on promotion.

This comes after Football Insider first revealed in June that Leeds would look for a minimum fee of £35million plus add-ons for the Dutchman this summer.

Summerville moved to Leeds in a deal worth £1.3million from Feyenoord in 2020 and made his debut for the club in 2021.

Since then, he has made 89 appearances for the Elland Road club, with 34 of those games coming during their time in the Premier League.

Last season, his 21 goals and 10 assists across 49 games saw him recognised as the best player in the second tier, despite losing the playoff final to Southampton.

Those performances have inspired interest from Liverpool, Brighton, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, who are said to be admirers of his and could be tempted to make a move this summer.

Leeds are no longer under pressure to sell, with Gray’s exit easing concerns about profit and sustainability rules.

However, Summerville’s ambitions to play Premier League football could see him attempt to force through a move should nothing materialise before the deadline.
