Lilywhite Rose thrilled by Tottenham financial 'Boost' after club announcement y'day

John Wenham has expressed his delight after Tottenham agreed on a brand-new deal with Saracens.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lliywhite Rose is happy for the club’s stadium to be used for non-football events.

As announced via Spurs’ official website on Tuesday (10 September), the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will continue to host Saracens’ annual marquee fixture, The Showdown, until 2028.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has detailed what this will do for the club as well as the local economy.

“This is a boost financially, but also in terms of club partnerships,” Wenham said.

“Saracens are a big rugby club and have a large network of partners. I just think for Spurs, whenever the stadium isn’t being used by the club, I’m more than happy for it to be used by someone else.

“It’s bringing money into the club, the local area, and the economy. Therefore, I think this is a good deal. The attendance for the fixture was fantastic last year, and long may it continue.”

It is clear to see that Spurs have grown commercially over the past few years. Chairman Daniel Levy has worked wonders when it comes to boosting the club’s finances.

While this agreement will only bring money in once a year, it is another example of the club utilising the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

As a result, supporters are unlikely to have many complaints with this latest agreement.

However, with those finances continuing to be boosted, the pressure on Levy to spend on the squad will only increase.
