Ally McCoist and Clive Tyldesley were impressed by Ianis Hagi after the exit-linked Rangers man came on for Romania against Belgium at the 2024 UEFA European Championship (22 June).

Hagi was introduced in the 68th minute as his side were beaten 2-0 in Group E.

Despite a poor season on loan at Alaves, the Rangers player caused a nuisance for Belgium and even had his shirt ripped as they desperately tried to defend against him.

Speaking live on ITV (9:33 pm, 22 June), McCoist said, “He (Hagi) has been bright since he came on.”

Tyldesley added, “He made his mark in the qualifying campaign with Romania after returning from a year out with a knee injury at the start of last year.

“It looks like he might have another injury problem here. He is banging the ground in frustration and limping away rather gingerly.”

Where will exit-linked Rangers midfielder Ianis Hagi end up this summer?

As reported by Chris Jack via the Rangers Review (18 June), Hagi will definitely leave the club this summer.

Therefore, those at Ibrox will hope Hagis’ injury is nothing too serious as they look to secure a transfer for the midfielder.

Once a regular first-team player at Ibrox, the Romanian appears to have no future under Philippe Clement, which wasn’t helped by his poor spell on loan with Alaves in La Liga during the 2023/24 campaign.

That disappointing time in Spain will have done little to convince Clement that he should make room for the 25-year-old.

It appears as if the player’s time at Ibrox is already up. However, those connected with the club will still be hopeful of Hagi making an impact at the Euros.

Anything which he does to impress out in Germany with Romania will only drive up his price and benefit those back at Ibrox in Glasgow.

In other Rangers news, a double announcement is due as a £2.5million duo jet into the United Kingdom.
