'More Advanced' - Alan Myers shares double Everton attacker transfer update

Alan Myers has shared an update on Everton making a move for Wilfried Gnonto and Jesper Lindstrom this summer.

Writing on his personal X account (18 July), the Sky Sports reporter was responding to a fan question about the club’s interest in the Leeds and Napoli stars.

Myers shared that the club have an interest in both but a deal for the Italy international is a “more advanced situation” than the current negotiations for Lindstrom despite reports the Dane is “one step away” [Corriere dello Sport, 18 July].

Sean Dyche is keen to add attacking talent to his squad at Goodison Park this summer, and it seems as though the Italian may be the top target.

Lindstrom is interesting the Toffees, but with Napoli yet to decide on his future, they may have to wait a while before a deal happens.

Gnonto is someone that the club have been chasing since last summer, and had the 49ers Enterprises at Leeds not been so stubborn, he would likely already be playing in royal blue.

A deal now looks far more likely than it did last year though after Leeds failed to earn promotion to the Premier League.

Kevin Thelwell is working on several deals at a time to ensure that the squad isn’t left short at the end of the window in any way, but Gnonto is looking like a very real possibility now.
