Newcastle United fans have urged Anthony Gordon to sign a contract extension after he officially kickstarted his pre-season this week.
The 23-year-old has been on an extended break after reaching the 2024 Euros final with England but returned to Newcastle yesterday.
The club’s social media accounts shared images of him back training, while Gordon himself posted on his Instagram [August 6] with the caption, “Back.”
The winger has been embroiled in a transfer saga this summer, with his boyhood club Liverpool keen to sign him before the window shuts.
His form under Eddie Howe has caught the attention of other clubs after scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 64 appearances for the North East giants.
Football Insider revealed that Gordon could even go on strike to land a sensational move to Anfield after having his head turned by their “concrete and active” interest in him.

Recent reports claimed that Gordon has just two years left on his current contract at St James’ Park after signing from Everton in January 2023.
