PL rivals eye move to sign int'l striker as Everton make transfer decision - reports

Bournemouth are now eyeing a move to sign El Bilal Toure after Everton opted against signing him, according to Calciomercato.

The news outlet reported on 7 August that Atalanta wanted Beto and were willing to offer Toure in return, but the Toffees did not accept the deal.

Per L’Equipe, this saw the Cherries come to the table for the 22-year-old Mali international with them keen on signing him, as reported by Sport Witness on 8 August.

El Bilal Toure would’ve been better than Beto for Everton

Toure is a more versatile player, capable of playing across the front line and offering something different than Dominic Calvert-Lewin does.

This would have provided the Toffees with more tactical options and the ability to adapt to different opponents.

Secondly, Toure’s age (22) suggests that he still has room for development, meaning his value could increase over time, potentially leading to a significant return on investment if he were to be sold in the future.

Moreover, his style of play, which is characterised by his pace, dribbling ability and goal-scoring prowess, could have been a better fit for the system under Sean Dyche.

His ability to run in behind and stretch defences could have complemented the skills of other forwards in the squad.

In contrast, Beto is more of a traditional target man, which might not have been the best fit for Everton’s style of play.
