Rangers fans stunned by confirmed Ianis Hagi twist after 'criminal' development

Rangers fans have been left stunned as Ianis Hagi was named in the starting lineup for the B team’s friendly clash v Middlesbrough.

Hagi spent last season out on loan at Spanish side Alaves before heading to Euro 2024 with Romania where he made four appearances.

He has now returned to Glasgow, but rather than integrating into Philippe Clement’s first-team squad, he has immediately been sent to the B team.

This has raised questions among supporters at Ibrox given their lack of creativity in attack and Tom Lawrence’s continued involvement despite inconsistent displays.

After the lineup was shared via Rangers’ social media channels, fans have flooded the replies to question why the attacking midfielder isn’t in Clement’s plans.

With a crucial Champions League qualifier against Dynamo Kyiv set to take place on 6 August, supporters insisted Hagi should be given his chance.

Hagi had previously been somewhat of a fans’ favourite at Ibrox during his early years at the club, but persistent injury issues have his role lessened.

Football Insider revealed on 14 July that Rangers are listening to offers for the 25-year-old this summer and will accept seven-figure offers for his signature.

However, as it seems no deal is close and an acceptable offer is yet to be tabled, fans have labelled his involvement with Rangers B “criminal” and a “complete joke”.
