Rangers new signing forced out of pre-season training camp with paperwork incomplete - report

New Rangers signing Hamza Igamane has been forced to sit out pre-season training whilst the paperwork of his move is still finalised, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper reported on Friday, 12 July that there is still work to be done in formally registering the Moroccan, further frustrating Gers supporters.

Philippe Clement and his growing squad are currently on a warm-weather pre-season camp in Venlo, Netherlands, having played out a goalless stalemate in a bounce game against Belgian outfit Standard Liege on Wednesday.

Igamane due to join Rangers squad officially soon

Although Igamane has officially not joined up with his new teammates yet, he is expected to be available for Rangers’ meeting with Manchester United at Murrayfield on 20 July.

The game has been pencilled in at the Edinburgh stadium, nearly 50 miles away from Glasgow, due to delayed ongoing works at Ibrox which have been a thorn in the side of the club’s plans both on and off the pitch.

Whilst Gers fans are happy to have finally seen Igamane unveiled by the club, it is a frustration for Clement that he is unable to integrate the signing from FAR Rabat just yet.

Football reporter Andy Newport, currently out in Venlo with the team, has described Rangers’ summer business thus far as “lukewarm”, with supporters on the blue half of Glasgow unconvinced that the squad has yet been sufficiently strengthened.

Whilst several experienced players have headed for the exit door, the likes of Cyriel Dessers and Scott Wright have also been heavily linked with moves away.
