Rangers set for six-figure windfall after new Glen Kamara transfer agreed by Leeds - report

Rangers are set to earn around £860,000 after Leeds United agreed to sell Glen Kamara to Rennes for £8.6million, according to Daily Record.

Writing on their official X account (13 July), the news outlet report that the Gers had a 10 per cent sell-on clause included in the deal they made with the Whites last summer.

Kamara joined Leeds for £5million but Fabrizio Romano now reports (13 July) that Ligue 1 club Rennes have agreed to a higher deal for the Finland international, with personal terms already agreed.

The deal to sell Kamara last summer was one that dragged out for a long time before finally going through right at the end, but it seems to have benefitted them greatly.

Michael Beale made it very clear to the player and the club that he had no future but the board were still able to negotiate a very good fee, and then the sell-on clause too.

Most people wouldn’t have expected that to come back to boost the budget just 12 months later, but it’s good news for Philippe Clement in a summer where a huge rebuild is needed at Ibrox.

So far six players have joined and six have left, but the budget is still tight at the club and any other deals that happen are likely to see more sales [Four Lads, 11 July].

But with almost an extra million to work with now, it could be a huge boost to the club’s plans for the transfer market to help them get some tough deals over the line.
