Sky Sports journo predicts 'job problems' for Clement at Rangers

Dan Bardell believes Rangers must beat Celtic in the next Old Firm clash or Philippe Clement could be sacked.

The Belgian’s side suffered a humiliating defeat at Parkhead on Sunday 1 September in a hugely disappointing performance.

Fans reacted by travelling to Ibrox to demand more out of the Gers, with some suggesting that the manager should lose his job.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell can see Clement being given until the next clash against the Hoops before a decision is made on his future.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: “They’ve got to try and win all their games that are coming up.

“Then by the next time they play Celtic be near somewhat near them. If they start to drift too far away from Celtic then Clement is going to have job problems they need to keep themselves in touch.

“When the next Old Firm comes around Rangers need to be in a better position that they are now.

“They need to win that match to get a better feeling around the club because it’s all pretty abject right now.“

The Belgian hasn’t had the best time of it since becoming manager at Ibrox, besides his early spell after taking over from Michael Beale.

The end of the season was very poor and allowed Brendan Rodgers’ side to confirm a league title win all but unopposed by the end of the campaign.

This dreadful run has extended into a new year of action with the Light Blues’ painful and embarrassing defeat in the Old Firm being the tip of the iceberg.

Fans are growing impatient with Clement and his constant demands for patience despite a lack of tangible results in his time at the club.

With the next clash against their Glasgow rivals coming in January, it will be interesting to see if there is a new manager in the dugout at Ibrox or not.
