Ross McCausland could be left out of the Rangers squad against Kilmarnock on Sunday 20 October as a precautionary move, Ibrox News understands.
The Northern Ireland international was called up to Michael O’Neill’s squad during the break but failed to feature in Nations League clashes against Belarus and Bulgaria due to an injury described no more than being a niggle.
The 21-year-old has since returned to Glasgow and featured in training on Friday (18 October) before the clash at Rugby Park.
Ibrox News understands that the winger is a doubt against Killie but could if absent it will be for precautionary reasons.

The Gers are preparing to face Derek McInnes’ side and could be forced to do so without McCausland due to “a niggle”.
Ibrox News has been told by sources close to the Northern Irishman that there is no reason for concern if he is to miss the away clash for the Light Blues.
Rangers will be hoping to close the gap on Celtic and Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premiership to three points at Rugby Park on Sunday after the first and second-placed clubs drew 2-2 at Parkhead on Saturday.
If McCausland does miss the trip to East Ayrshire, it means he should be available in time for the Europa League clash against Romanian outfit FCSB at Ibrox on Thursday 24 October.
