The Daily Record journalist claims that the Motherwell midfielder is unlikely to be in Gers’ price range to begin with.
He also thinks the Hoops should be trying to engineer a deal behind the scenes to tempt the 18-year-old to move to Parkhead.
Jackson wrote on 16 November: “If Celtic aren’t already trying to engineer a deal behind the scenes then they should be. Rangers are unlikely to have the financial clout to compete. But if England’s top flight comes sniffing around then both of them might be priced out of the bidding.”
