'The problem is...' - Agent confirms £57k/week player could transfer away from Everton

Beto could be leaving Everton and returning to Italy but the stumbling block is his wages, according to agent Gabriele La Manna.

Speaking exclusively to Ok Calciomercato [11 October], he confirmed that the 26-year-old is on wages of €3million/year which is equal to £57k/week.

He also claims that he’s currently out of favour at Goodison Park but his salary might make it harder for the club to sell.

La Manna said: “He could (return to Italy). Beto is out of Everton’s fold but the problem is linked to the cost of his contract: the Toffees paid a lot for him and the striker earns around €3million (£2.51million)”.

Everton may have to make a compromise before selling Beto

The Toffees will face difficulties in selling Beto primarily due to his high wage demands, which are significantly above what many clubs, especially in Italy, might be willing to pay for a player who has struggled to make an impact at Goodison Park.

His annual salary could deter potential buyers unless he significantly reduces his salary or the selling club offers financial incentives.

To facilitate a transfer, Everton might consider a strategy where they agree to cover a portion of Beto’s wages for a predefined period as part of the deal.

This would reduce the financial burden on the buying club, making the transfer more appealing.

Such an arrangement would not only help the Toffees offload some of Beto’s wages from their books but also potentially recoup some of the investment made when they signed him, thereby mitigating financial losses while freeing up squad space for new signings or youth development.

Sean Dyche does not seem to rate him as he’s barely featured under the Englishman and has fallen down the pecking order.

In other Everton news, The Friedkin Group have been handed a major problem ahead of the Toffees takeover.
