Tottenham agree multi-million deal to sell Troy Parrott as he jets out for medical

Tottenham have sealed a deal to offload Troy Parrott for £6.7million, with the striker now bound for the Netherlands for a medical with AZ Alkmaar, according to Nizaar Kinsella.

The BBC journalist reported on X on Friday (July 12) that the 21-year-old, who joined Spurs back in 2017, is set to depart after several loan stints, including an impressive season at Excelsior Rotterdam where he netted an impressive 17 goals.

Parrott’s move comes after AZ Alkmaar expressed keen interest following his standout performances in the Eredivisie.

Kinsella wrote: “Tottenham forward Troy Parrot, 21, is flying to the Netherlands. Got his medical after AZ Alkmaar agreed a £6.7million (€8m) deal.”

Letting Troy Parrott leave could prove to be a decision Tottenham regret. Despite limited first-team chances, the 21-year-old has shown promise during loan spells, especially in the Eredivisie where he scored goals consistently.

His ability to find the net shows his potential to develop into a valuable striker. Tottenham’s decision to cash in on him now might mean missing out on a player who could have flourished given more opportunities or the right system.
