‘Trouble’: Troy Deeney has now predicted who will win – Newcastle or Tottenham

Newcastle face Tottenham on Sunday in what could quietly be the tastiest game of the weekend.

Manchester United vs Liverpool will get most of the attention, but Newcastle vs Spurs could be a real blockbuster affair.

Ange Postecoglou and Eddie Howe are two managers who go all-guns-blazing into every single game, and Spurs’ high-line may well help Newcastle click into gear after a slow start to the season.

Speaking on his TikTok page, Troy Deeney has been previewing this game, and he’s predicted who will come out victorious this weekend.

Troy Deeney predicts Newcastle vs Tottenham

Deeney shared his verdict on how this match between Newcastle and Tottenham will go.

“Newcastle have been all over the place. There’s trouble brewing with Eddie Howe and the Director of Football because they brought in Lloyd Kelly, and that’s it. He was on a free. Eddie could have done that by sending a text message, so the Director of Football is under a bit of pressure there. I am going to say it’s going to be a good game, 3-2 Spurs,” Deeney said.

Newcastle could make a statement

Newcastle haven’t been at their best so far this season, but this could be the game that gets their season up and running.

Let’s not forget, in this fixture last season, Newcastle put in the best performance of their campaign as they won 4-0 against Spurs.

Alexander Isak ran amok that day, and there’s no reason why he can’t do the same here.

Tottenham are still vulnerable defensively, and if Newcastle turn up and play the way we know they can, they could cause Spurs some serious problems.

Regardless of who comes out on top, this will likely be an end-to-end game with plenty of chances and goals.

This could be the most entertaining match of the weekend, and if Newcastle turn up, they could put in a statement performance.
