Rangers picked up a 1-0 victory against Hearts in the SPFL on Sunday, 10 November at Ibrox.
Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring early on in the first half and that was the only goal in the game.
Despite a few nervy moments, Gers managed to hold on to their lead and secured the three points.
Here are our player ratings from the game:
Jack Butland – 6
Spared John Souttar’s blushes with exceptional reactions in the first half. Apart from that, he didn’t really have much to do and managed to keep his sheet clean, which is something that he would’ve wanted going into the game. He took control of his penalty area and gave nothing away.
James Tavernier – 4
His shot-turned-assist helped Dessers open the scoring but it will count as an assist and will give him a significant confidence boost. However, he still offered little to nothing on the defensive side of things. He failed to track his runner on numerous occasions and was a liability defensively.
John Souttar – 6
Made a huge mistake in the first half and that should not be happening from Souttar at this level. Was lucky to see Butland bailing him out. However, in terms of his passing, he had an accuracy north of 90 per cent and won both of his ground duels, per Sofascore.
Leon Balogun – 6
Contributed to keeping a clean sheet as he made multiple clearances all through the game. He looked more comfortable than usual in possession and justified his inclusion ahead of Robin Propper in the eleven.
Jefte – 7
Was by far the pick of the Gers defenders and was one of the few players in the team that actually played well. Bombed up and down the pitch all game and did not seem to tire. Looked settled in and out of possession and Clement will be impressed with his performance.
Connor Barron – 8
Had another stellar game where he put in a tireless shift up and down the field of play. The fact that the home support was unhappy at his withdrawal in the 66th minute speaks volumes about his impact during the game.
Nicolas Raskin – 8
Much like Barron, Raskin had an incredible performance at the heart of the Gers midfield. He was first to most duels and imposed himself in the middle of the park for the hosts. He did his best to impede the opposition midfielders and deserves his flowers at full time.
Vaclav Cerny – 5
Struggled in the final third against Hearts and was having issues finding the killer pass on numerous occasions. His decision-making was off it and he certainly did not look like his confidence levels were high.
Mohammed Diomande – 6
Had a few moments where he found himself in a threatening position but he failed to make the most of it. His end product was lacking but he’ll be encouraged that he’s doing better in an advanced role and hopefully, he can make this his own soon.
Nedim Bajrami – 6
Had glimpses in which he impacted proceedings but then went missing for the rest of the game which has to be frustrating. Whenever he was in the number 10 role, he looked at his most threatening but he cannot keep having these hot/cold games for Rangers.
Cyriel Dessers – 6
Found the back of the net early on but was quiet as the game progressed, much to the annoyance of the home fans. He kept getting progressively worse and it was a surprise that he lasted 78 minutes before coming off for Danilo.
Substitutes
Dujon Sterling – 6
Neraysho Kasanwirjo – 6
Danilo – 5
Kieran Dowell – 5
Ross McCausland – 6
