Chris Sutton was wrong to agree that Iliman Ndiaye could be sold by Everton.
The former Chelsea man was speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off podcast [27 December] when he agreed with Ian Ladyman’s claim that the Senegal star could be sold by the Blues.
However, the Friedkin Group do not need to continue the policy of selling the Merseyside club’s biggest players anymore as the Daily Mail reporter suggested.
Therefore, Sutton was wrong to agree with his co-host and it makes no sense for the Toffees to sell Ndiaye.
Ndiaye kicking on at Everton
The Senegal international has become a key player for Sean Dyche’s side and starred in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
He has scored three goals in 17 league matches so far since his move from Olympique Marseille last summer.
He could be ruled out through injury for the clash with Nottingham Forest on Sunday (29 December) which would be a huge blow for the Blues.
To sell the former Sheffield United star at this point, as he is emerging as a key player would make absolutely no sense for the Toffees.
The Blues financial situation is set to be a lot better under the ownership of the Friedkin Group and they should no longer be required to sell key players to resolve Profit and Sustainability issues.
The 24-year-old should be a part of the long-term rebuild under the new owners and cannot be sold in the near future, that would be counter-productive.
