Wenham backs Tottenham to agree cut-price deal with PL club for £60m forward

John Wenham has backed Tottenham to agree a cut-price Pedro Neto transfer with Wolves.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims the forward’s price will need to come down if the North London club are to sign him.

As reported by Give Me Sport (8 July), Wolves currently want £60million for Neto, while Spurs value him at around £45million.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has backed the price tag to eventually come down.

“I could see Spurs agreeing a deal for Neto late in the window,” Wenham said.

“The price would need to come down, and it would need to be made clear that Wolves are looking to sell.

“He’ll no doubt be at the top of a long list of transfer targets for Spurs. Therefore, if the right opportunity arises, they will make their move.

“His injury record is really bad, but on his day, he is a very talented player. As a result, having a player like him in your team is probably worth an extra six to nine points per season.

Neto is the exact profile of player the club should be looking to sign.

He is a big-name target who will sell shirts and get supporters on their feet in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While the additions of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall could prove to be very shrewd signings down the line, fans will want to see ready-made players brought to the club.

Neto is a Premier League-proven forward with plenty of quality. Therefore, he is someone who Ange Postecoglou would likely be able to get the best out of.
