Wenham delighted by progress of Tottenham loanee after what he has done recently

John Wenham is delighted to see on-loan Tottenham striker Dane Scarlett contributing in the Championship with Oxford United.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes it is important that the 20-year-old continues in this vein of form until the end of the season.

Scarlett has three goals in his last six games for Oxford United.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – expects the youngster to continue pushing for regular starts.

“For Scarlett, it is just about continuing to perform well,” Wenham said.

“Even when he was on the bench recently for Oxford United, he still came on and managed to score a really good goal.

“Therefore, he will be pushing for more starts at the club. He just needs to keep performing well and see what his numbers are toward the end of the season.

“Scarlett is a striker, so it is important that he gets goals, which he is doing at the moment.”

Ange Postecoglou to take notice of Dane Scarlett at Tottenham?

After a difficult start to the 2024/25 season, Scarlett is beginning to become a first-team regular at Oxford United. Therefore, Ange Postecoglou will no doubt have taken notice.

Scarlett is yet to fulfil the early potential he demonstrated when he first burst onto the scene in North London.

However, it is important to remember that he is still only 20 years old. Therefore, there is plenty of time left for him to make a name for himself under Postecoglou at Spurs.

And if he continues to perform well this season, he could be handed more first-team opportunities next year.
