Wenham suggests 'Fantastic' 20y/o is unhappy at Tottenham with loan switch mooted

John Wenham believes Dane Scarlett will leave Tottenham on loan this summer.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has suggested that the 20-year-old appears to be unhappy at the club at the moment.

Scarlett featured in pre-season matches against Hearts and QPR, grabbing a goal against the latter.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is hopeful that a big loan move will allow him to really kickstart his career.

“I think Scarlett will go out on loan this summer,” Wenham said.

“It was good for him to get on the scoresheet against QPR. I just miss seeing him play with a smile on his face.

“He doesn’t appear happy at the moment. Therefore, I think a good loan will help him rediscover his confidence.

“Wherever he goes he will get goals. I think he has been a little bit forgotten about due to his struggles on loan previously, but he is a fantastic finisher.

“I think he is just one positive loan away from his career really taking off.”

Dane Scarlett to leave Tottenham on loan?

It feels as though Scarlett has been around in North London for quite some time now.

The striker made his debut at an incredibly young age and some supporters might be quick to forget that he is still just 20 years old.

As a result, there is still plenty of time for the youngster to establish himself at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Scarlett will hope another loan switch is just what he needs.

First-team minutes might be hard to come by this season, and if the forward wants to rediscover his confidence and joy for football, a temporary switch might be the perfect solution.
