Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark is unlikely to become a first-team regular right away at Rangers, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his lack of senior minutes could have an impact on his fitness and he will need to be eased into the side.
Gers are keen on signing the 19-year-old from Liverpool but will have to shell out more than £6million to acquire his services. [Paul Gorst, 10 August]
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“With his age and lack of minutes, there’s certainly a risk of injury but wouldn’t call it high.
“The club can never be sure about his fitness and it potentially leads to an injury but they have to understand his habits and commitment in training and off the pitch for a better understanding along with bringing him along slowly into the team.
“Even if he joins, I don’t see him playing full games week in and week out for a few months.“
Rangers must sign Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark
Bringing in a young, ambitious player like Clark could foster a culture of youth development at Ibrox, aligning with long-term success strategies.
His potential for growth makes him an investment for the future.
It may be wise to sign him on an initial loan and see if he’s the right fit and then look to permanently secure his services next summer.
In other Rangers news, a development has emerged as Gers aim to secure the transfer of a £6.8m-rated international striker.
